Almost there!

Pre-Algebra is almost over! All that is left is a take-home quiz, a scavenger hunt, and a final exam! Answer the following questions:

1) Have you already started studying for the final exam? If so, what have you done? If not, what do you plan on doing to prepare yourself?

2) Has this year been challenging for you? Do you think you performed the best you could have? What could you have done differently?

3) The Algebra I course at KIS is challenging. Do you think you need to hone up on any skills over the summer, or do you feel confident about your mathematics ability? If so, what skills?

4) Did you like Pre-Algebra class this year? Why or why not? (Be honest, but be respectful.)

  1. 1) I haven't started preparing for final exam. I am planing to just look over what we learned in this semester.
2)This year was not very challenging because it was easy to understand the concepts. I think I didn't perform best as I could have because I make small calculation mistakes on quizzes and tests.
3)I think during the summer vacation I need to work on not making small calculation mistakes other than going over the equation stuff the we learned this year.
4)I really enjoyed Pre-Algebra class this year because we had many fun activities to learn new concepts and equations.

  2. 1. I haven't started reviewing for the exam but plan to go over the tests and quizzes we have taken over this semester.
    2. This year did not seem very challenging as many of the concepts were pretty easy to learn and understand.
    3. I think I need to try and stop doing small mistakes as sometimes I don't read the problem thoroughly enough, I also make mistakes as sometimes I don't see a 1 or 0 in the problem.
    4. I enjoyed algebra as the scavenger hunts and review games were fun but we also went over concepts and learnt stuff.

  3. 1. I haven't started studying yet, and what u plan to do is read the titles of the chapters and sections to remind myself what we did.
    2. This year wasn't challenging, since I already took pre-algebra. I don't think I performed the best I could do because I always made small errors.
    3. Over the summer, I need to work on reading directions.
    4. I liked Pre-algebra this year because the classes were always enjoyable, even though most of the concepts were repeating.

  4. 1) I haven't started studying over the final exam, but I am going to review all the terms and chapters that we have done this year. I probably might have to study this week and next week.

2)Only the chapter 7 test has been challenging for me because there were so many hard problems on the test and the basic concept also seems confusing. I don't think I have done the best I could because I always get many word problems wrong and make so many simple calculations wrong.

    3) I think I need to practice my skill on Algebra over the summer because it is one of the hardest things that I might easily misunderstand.

    4) I really enjoyed Pre-Algebra this year. There were many new friends here and the teacher acts silly and helps us understand the concepts well.

  5. 1) I haven't started studying for the final exam but I'm planning to just go over the main concepts of each chapter and go over the the test to get ready.
    2) On a certain level, yes, it has been challenging. I do think I performed my best but I think I got a little lazy in the middle. I should've been efficiently working throughout the whole year.
    3) I'm overall proud of my skills right now but I think I have to work on not making small calculation mistakes I make on tests and homework as well as reading the directions carefuly.
    4) I loved the class this year. Mr. Jobe had plenty of ideas where all the students could interact and thoroughly understand the concept that he was trying to give us. I want to be in this class again next year(:

  6. 1. Yes, I have started to study for the finals. I have not been throwing away my homework or tests or quizzes and for my studying, I am looking over them and seeing what I am weak on and what I can do well on.
    2. This year I think was not that big of a challenge. I think I have performed the best I can. Even though there might have been some problems, I could do better on those subjects next time.
    3. I am not confident about Algebra I next year. I think I have to study through summer to finish Algebra I and for review at school.
    4. I have enjoyed Pre-Algebra this year. All thanks to Mr. Jobe. He had made the lessons and math fun overall. He gave us fun explanations or activities.

  7. 1- I have started studying for the final exam, so far I went over the last chapters we were looking at such as chapter 9 and 10. I'm also thinking about just redoing some of the homework pages and looking over old tests and quizzes.
2- This year had some difficult times, but mostly it was just okay and this year actually went by quickly. I think I could have put more effort into everything and I think I could have handed in all my assignments on time and study for tests and quizzes more.
3- During the summer I am going to get a head start on what we are going to learn with my teacher and be more prepared for the next school year.
4- This is probably the first math class I have ever taken (besides kindergarden) that was really enjoyable. You give us a good laugh while teaching everything at a steady pace (:

  8. 1)I haven't started studying for the final exam but plan to review my tests and quizzes I took.
2)This year did not seem challenging. I think I performed the best I could have. I could have studied a little bit more longer to get a good grade on tests and quizzes.
3)I think I need to try and read questions more carefully because I always make silly mistakes.
    4) I enjoyed Pre-Algebra this year because we played fun games such as scavenger hunt and review games. It made me happy to cooperate with friends solving questions.

  9. 1. I have started studying for the final exam. I have started by looking at previous lessons on the textbook. Also, I have looked at a few previous tests. Later, I will look over the whole textbook, all of my tests, and I will try a few problems from the sections I need to work on.
    2. This year has not been very challenging because I learned almost all of the lessons before school started and I think I performed the best I could have.
    3. I think that over the summer, I should practice on not making small mistakes. Most of the time, I get the hard questions but make very stupid mistakes on the easy ones.
    4. Honestly, I really liked Pre-Algebra class this year because Mr. Jobe is really fun, weird, and good at teaching! (: We did lots of fun activities like scavenger hunts which made the class very fun. Also, Mr. Jobe made up lots of funny things so we could understand the concepts better and so we wouldn't forget them.

  10. 1) I'm kind of started studying and planning to looking through all the chapters or solving some problems from chapters that I found hard.

    2) This year hasn't been very challenging because I learned some of the concepts in 6th grade and others weren't very difficult to understand. I don't think that I performed the best I could because I made a lot of small mistakes on tests. I could have double checked every time I was finished with each test to correct the errors.

    3) I think I need to look over the textbook again to make sure to remember what we did.

    4) I think that Pre-Algebra was okay this year. I liked some of the chapters and disliked others. The review games and activities were fun and helped me a lot with understanding the concepts.

  11. 1. I haven't started studying for the final exam yet. I plan on looking over the test corrections handed back and the quizzes to review so that I don't make the same mistakes again.

    2. In someways this year has been challenging for me. I don't think I performed the best I could. I should have reviewed more for the quizzes and tests. I feel like because I didn't review enough, I made very silly mistakes.

    3. I feel like I am pretty confident about my math ability but there is always room for improvement. During the summer break, I should be learning and reviewing math continuously because if I don't, I may forget things that are very important. I also should keep in mind to read the directions properly and practice so that I don't make little mistakes. The skills I feel confident about is being able to understand pretty well on the concept of the chapters we learned this year.

    4. I really enjoyed pre-algebra this year. I enjoyed it a lot because Mr.Jobe had made many ideas to help us memorize equations or whatever it is and he made math really fun. We didn't just study study study, but Mr. Jobe occasionally made fun activities to do so we learn the concept better in a fun way. I feel like because of his way of teaching, I will remember math concepts easier and remember it a longer time.

  12. 1. I haven't started studying for the finals but I'm planing to review the tests and the quizzes that we did over this semester.
    2. For me is was a little bit challenging for me because I had some troubles getting used to Korea and the things that we learn here.
    3. I think during the summer vacation, I need to work on not getting small mistakes.
    4. I enjoyed Pre-Algebra this year because it was easy for me to learn.

  13. 1) No, I haven't started on the final exam. I am planning to make a study guide, and to look over it a lot of times.

    2) I think that it was sort of challenging, especially the chapter 10. I don't think I reviewed a lot, so sometimes I forgot what I was trying to do.

    3) I think I have to work on reviewing over and over again, even what we learned this year.

    4) I really enjoyed Pre-Algebra class this year, because we had fun activities, such as the scavenger hunts, to review, and we had interesting ways of learning.

  14. 1) Have you already started studying for the final exam? If so, what have you done? If not, what do you plan on doing to prepare yourself?

Yes, I have started on studying for the finals! I always kept the worksheets in my math book so I started to look over them. Since I got my math tests back, I am also planning to look over them.

    2) Has this year been challenging for you? Do you think you performed the best you could have? What could you have done differently?

At some parts, it was a challenge but I really enjoyed math class and even though it was a challenge, there were people who could help so it wasn’t that bad. I think I preformed well this year except on the tests. If I had a chance to do 7th grade pre-algebra all over again, I would of studied on the tests more.

    3) The Algebra I course at KIS is challenging. Do you think you need to hone up on any skills over the summer, or do you feel confident about your mathematics ability? If so, what skills?

I am really not confident about algebra at all. I think I have to study a lot during the summer by going to hagwons and having lessons.

Did you like Pre-Algebra class this year? Why or why not? (Be honest, but be respectful.)

There has been nothing difficult for me this year and I think I have performed the best I could have.
    3) The Algebra I course at KIS is challenging. Do you think you need to hone up on any skills over the summer, or do you feel confident about your mathematics ability? If so, what skills?
I’m going to study a little during summer holiday.
Did you like Pre-Algebra class this year? Why or why not? (Be honest, but be respectful.)
I liked Pre-Algebra course but one thing that I liked was that there wasn’t enough homework for everyone.

  16. 1) Have you already started studying for the final exam? If so, what have you done? If not, what do you plan on doing to prepare yourself? I started reviewing chapter 6, 7 and 9 because those chapters are the chapters I struggled with.

    2) Has this year been challenging for you? Do you think you performed the best you could have? What could you have done differently? Well, I came to the school at the middle of the year and at beginning, it was pretty hard for me to learn it. Because the sections are different with America. I should have asked my teacher or my friends to get help.

    3) The Algebra I course at KIS is challenging. Do you think you need to hone up on any skills over the summer, or do you feel confident about your mathematics ability? If so, what skills? I think I need to practice more Pre-Algebra chapters 9~10 then start reviewing Algebra. I need to practice to solve word problems and challenge questions.

    4) Did you like Pre-Algebra class this year? Why or why not? (Be honest, but be respectful.) I liked Pre- Algebra this year, becuase it was fun to learn new math formulas and made a lot of friends during class. I also loved my classmates and my teacher. Pre-Algebra ROCKS!!

  17. 1)I did not start studying yet, but I will soon. (: I am planning to go over the whole thing with my tutor.

    2) It wasn't too hard. However, I could've performed better than what I've done. As time passed, I got lazier and even lost some of my tests. :'(

    3) I will go over the whole thing with my tutor so I will feel more confident about it next year. :D

    4) I'm not sure wether I like this class or not because math is not a fun topic for me. However, I got to make two new friends because of this class and you are very funny!
